Bat Walk
As the sun sets there are few places in Britain that are host to such a wide variety of bat species. Fascinating for young and old alike, let us take you on a guided walk in the dusk of beautiful Holkham park as you learn about the different species and their habitats and use our bat detectors.
Tickets: Adult: £3.50, Child (5-16yrs): £2.50. Tickets available by telephone and online.

Walled gardens Ramble
Join one of our gardeners for a guided walk to explore the 'seen and unseen areas' of the 6 1/2 acre Walled gardens. A great chance to find out more about what the gardens used to grow in the past and how the current project to restore the gardens to their former glory is progressing.
Booking is recommended as these tours are popular. Meet in the entrance to the Walled gardens. Each tour will last approximately one hour. Well-behaved dogs on leads are also welcome.

Food and Drink Festival
Our hugely popular Food and Drink Festival returns for 2015. Located in the picturesque walled gardens, it is foodie heaven as the best food and drink producers in the region come together for this special event. With cookery demonstrations, entertainment and the chance to find something especially delicious, it’s the perfect events for all ages!
Free entry to the festival, £2.50 car parking charge applies.

National Nature Reserve Guided Walks
Join us for a series of short, gentle walks around the Holkham National Nature Reserve taking in the diverse habitats and seasonal highlights of the wildlife. From nesting lapwing in the spring to pink footed geese and fungi in the autumn, whatever the time of year there’s always lots to see.
The walk will last for approximately 2 hours. We meet and start at Lady Anne’s Drive, Holkham Beach. Due to the walks being wildlife centered, unfortunately dogs are not able to join us.
Parking is available at Lady Anne’s Drive where standard parking charges apply.

Photography Workshop – Coastal Nature
Taking a stroll along the Norfolk coast can be an awe-inspiring experience at this time of the year offering a rich diversity of natural subjects to photograph. This one-day course provides that experience where professional photographer Nigel Downer will guide and show you a range of techniques to photograph birds, insects, plants and landscapes from the standard pictorial images to the more abstract and intimate. Through practical demonstration you will be shown how design and composition play a vital role in forming that aesthetically pleasing picture. The course is suitable to both the beginner and the more experienced in photography. You will need to bring your own camera, but some equipment will be available for your use on the day. Nigel will contact you prior to the event to discuss any other equipment needs. We suggest you wear suitable footwear and warm clothing for walking along the coast.

Plant Fair
Plant nurseries from across East Anglia will come together for this two-day plant fair hosted in the Walled gardens at Holkham. September is a great time to stock up on plants for autumn planting. Find that special plant for a special spot and get advice and tips for selecting the right plant. Other gardening essentials such as pots, compost and labels will also be available, while a variety of craft and artisan stalls will have a range of hand-crafted garden accessories to tempt you.
