A haven of tranquillity and calm with pool, Jacuzzi and relaxation room, endless treatment options and a thermal suite for all your pampering needs.
Where to find it
Imagine Spa is located within the grounds of the Knights Hill hotel complex but is open to the public. It is at the Knights Hill roundabout on the main A149 road from Kings Lynn towards Sandringham. Drive around the hotel reception to a car park at the back of the complex and the spa will be right in front of you.
What to expect
The spa adjoins the leisure centre so has excellent fitness and pool facilities; the Jacuzzi is large, warm and seriously bubbly as a good Jacuzzi should be. A door to your right of this area leads into the actual spa and instantly the environment changes. The lighting dims, the voices whisper and relaxation prevails. The welcome area has sink-in comfy sofas and a backdrop of calm waters by a jetty. With iced water and herbal teas on offer, you feel yourself unwind before the treatments have even begun.
There are five treatment rooms, all decorated with peace and harmony in mind and complemented by the distant sounds of nature playing as you envelop yourself in robes and fluffy towels. The thermal suite is a ‘fire and ice’ experience: mineral grottos, aroma steam rooms, feature showers, foot spas and an ice fountain to both heat and cool the body for advanced revitalization. There’s also a relaxation room which is perfect to chill in between therapy sessions. What works best about this place is its time-based ethos. You book a period of usually three hours and choose what you’ll do when you arrive. This gives you ample time to really relax and unwind, pop in and out of different areas as you wish. Therapist treatments can be booked in the same manner and your needs discussed before you decide. This laid back approach adds to the serenity of the place.
I’ve experienced a good mix of therapies here and have been pleased with the guaranteed quality of service across all treatments. The facials are relaxing and the products used first class; you really can feel the difference on your skin. There’s a large selection of massage options, my favourite is the scenta of Asia hot stone massage. Imagine the warmth of sun-kissed pebbles on a beach as heated smooth lava stones are massaged over your entire body; it really is a heavenly treat. Prices are reasonable too at £30 upwards and finishing touches such as mini cleanse and boost and scalp massages are £15.
With two double treatment rooms the spa is also a great place to share with a friend or a loved one. For couples there’s the aromatherapy baths, plus I’d highly recommend the Serail mud Chamber for an intimate enjoyable experience. Cover each other in mud from head to toe and sit together in a heated tank as the essential oils purify your skin then let the raindrop showers rinse you clean. The whole treatment takes around 45mins and allows for plenty of giggles and fun.
Imagine Spa is one of those places you long to be in on a busy day; the type you find yourself day dreaming about. The experience is always enjoyable, always refreshing and always leaves you wanting more. Put this oasis of calm on your to do list now.
Imagine spa is open Monday to Friday 7am to 10pm and Saturday and Sundays 7am to 8pm. Booking is essential as it’s a popular place. I recommend signing up to the newsletter, you get 50% off your first treatment and a very reasonable special offer of the month each issue.
