Where to find it
Scent with Love is located on the ground floor of a large original Victorian house in the bustling seaside resort of Hunstanton, 16 miles from King’s Lynn and 17 miles from Wells-next-the-Sea on the main coastal A149 road - just head up the hill from the pier and green. From the exterior alone this place oozes quality and style but don’t be fooled into thinking it’s only for high end customers. Step inside the Aladdin’s cave and find exactly what you’re looking for, whatever your budget.

What to expect
Established since 2002 and a leading florist within Norfolk, it’s easy to see why the owner, Nicholas Godfrey-Cole has experienced nothing but success in his 23 years in the flower business. A perfectionist bursting with creative flare; he stumbled upon his calling after being made redundant from a catering position many years ago. After just six months as an assistant in a flower shop, he was making wedding bouquets and winning awards such as the Harrison Trophy for Best Achiever. Flower arranging was almost instinctual for Nicholas and he’s not looked back since. A friendly approachable soul with a natural ability to put you at ease, he prefers to keep his business in one place so he can oversee everything and ensure his customers receive the all important personal touch.

The shop is a delight to enter with its haven of colour themed rooms; dens of quality fresh flowers, home fragrances, silk and artificial blooms and foliage, vases and giftware. It’s a visual treat to entice the senses; flowers have never looked so good.

What can you buy here?
All their fresh flowers are sourced direct from Holland and enable a complete wish list of every conceivable variety available. From best selling lilies to unusual exotics such as Anthuriums and Strelitzia to over 500 types of roses; deliveries are every other day. Catering for absolutely anything you may need flowers for, Scent with Love is top of its game when it comes to handmade bouquets and arrangements. They have contracts with all the leading high end hotels in the area such as The Hoste in Burnham Market and Heacham Manor to name but two. Their reputation is spreading far and wide and Nicholas is passionate about only putting his name to something he is proud of.

Whether it’s a simple bouquet for a birthday, an elaborate wedding package or funeral wreaths, every customer is valued and dealt with professionally. If you’re not quite sure what you want, Nicholas and his team are more than happy to discuss your thoughts and together arrive at the perfect arrangement for you. In fact I get the feeling this personal contact is one of the most important factors to the business and definitely something they pride themselves on. It’s great to talk flowers with someone as knowledgeable on their meanings and the theories of colour as Nicholas is. He is in touch with leading florists all over the world too to keep up to the minute on latest flower trends, styles and colour arrangements.

Demonstrations, courses and flower schools
Lucky for us Nicholas also offers a wide range of courses and demonstration days for beginners through to aspiring florists giving everyone the opportunity to learn a new skill and have fun. For around £50 a session you get to take two flower arrangements home that you’ve made in the class. Check out our What’s On listings for all the latest courses running or contact the shop for information on group bookings, parties and such forth.

It’s rare to walk into a florist that is so visually full of colour and so warm in welcome and service. If you want flowers, advice on flowers, or desire to learn about flowers yourself, visit Nicholas. Tell him you were scent with love!
