Born in 1970 in Newham and raised in Essex, Jacky Hutson is an artist with an undeniably striking style. Educated at Norwich Art School, Nottingham Polytechnic  and the UEA her studio practise is central to all other tiers of her creative practice. As a painter her work is illustrative with an abstract lean with a strong colour impact. Creating an expansive sense of other worlds within the many layers the subject matter is always mixed up. An ethereal and transparent feel that allows for unconscious play with light, line, layers and form.  Attention to detail is vital in creating these glamourous, intriguing and imaginative pieces.

Her last exhibition was in London  July 2012 at the Curious Duke Gallery,207 White Cross St,EC1Y with current representation by Premiere Art and a  show in May 2013 at Flaxon Ptootch Salon & Gallery,237 Kentish Town Road, Kentish Town,London. Some work is now available as  highest quality limited edition prints-please see her Facebook page Spreadbeauty Uk for information.

After studying for an MA in 2008 she has developed a cross platform medium between her paintings and animation to produce short films. The stylised, multi layered imagery of her work lends itself well to the medium of film. The  first film was shown as part of Lifestyles Festival in Hunstanton  projecting the film onto the exterior of a local Lighthouse at night, this was made possible with the help of Norfolk County Council's Art Fund. It has since gone on to be part of BBC Animation Celebration in Norwich 2010,Norwich Sound & Vision Festival and as part of a show at the Landmark Arts Centre in Teddington,TW11 in 2011. Her second film is due to be shown as a projection onto the exterior of St Peters Church in Sudbury,Suffolk in March 2013 as part of Lightnight-a celebration of the Stour Valley through the Managing a Masterpiece project.

Alongside her studio practise she has  taught children at a variety of local and national venues incorporating a wide range of creative activities over the past decade. Also specialising in commissioned mural design, currently working with Future Radio Norwich to create a music inspired piece for their lobby.

Norfolk has been a part of her life since the early 70's when the wild Norfolk coast was a welcome escape from busy Essex life. She chose to move back to this glorious county a decade ago where it is a fantastic base for all creative pursuits.
